I was so insanely happy when I saw this manga comic book! ^_^ I used to be obsessed with Sailor Moon on TV when I was little and hadn’t seen anything about it in years! I need to get volumes 1-8… started reading at volume 9. I know I should wait, but I can’t put it down!! ^_^

You won’t regret it ^^ even if you’ve seen the anime, the manga is a completely different story, so It will be like discovering it all over again!

There is going to be a new sailor moon show based off of this series? I hope so. I love this series. I use to watch the old tv show when I was younger. I just read the books 1-9 and love it.

I’m so grateful that this series is finally back in print after so long. I can’t even look at my old copies without a few pages falling out. What makes this even better is that the translation is amazingly well done. I love the cultural notes in the back. Thank you so much. I’m especially looking forward to the last arc which I haven’t been able to read since the series went out of print. I love Hotaru’s reawakening, it was one of those scenes that really stuck with me over the years. By the way are there any plans to publish the side stories?

I bought Sailor Moon 9 and I love the new translation! I love how accurate it is and the color pages at the start are stunning! Sailor Moon was my first anime and I have always wanted to read the manga counterpart. I’m glad that I’ve made it to volume 9, this series holds a special place in my heart. Thanks Kodansha!

I am very happy that my fave manga since high school is back in a new translation.

What i like about this new manga version is that you guys have add a “translators notes” at the back of the book that explains the definitions about what is certain words, names and meanings are, which is pretty cool ,i hope you guys continue to keep using the “Translator Notes” . I like learning somethings about Japan culture and Sailor Moon

As for the writing,i have heard people complain about how it was bad at the beginning but that didn’t stop me or discourage me from buying the books,I still bought them and enjoyed them,To be honest i was just happy that Sailor Moon was back and as time went by the storyline got better and better.

Being a huge Sailor moon fan since i was in high school,I am very happy that you guys have gone thur a lot to bring this series back and i am very very grateful for that,I am also looking forward to the new Artbooks and the last 4 books of the series,it has been a great run and i am also looking forward to the new anime,Hopefully you guys will get the chance to translate the anim-manga series and TV guides.

I am so excited to see what will happen in the next volume! I have the first and last DVD of this season, so I’m learning new things from reading the manga. I’m glad some of it is different from the anime though. I have added in buying each of the next volumes into my budget just so I know I’ll be able to buy it without having to wait forever. I’ve been rereading the books that I have so that the story is fresh in my mind, though I doubt I’ll ever forget about Sailor Moon. I’ve loved it since my very first babysitter let me watch it when I was six. I’ve been hooked ever since!

The new volume was translated very well. I hope Miss Morimoto continues to do the good job she did this time.

Are we allowed to talk about how amazing Artemis was in this volume?
I read the sailor moon manga thanks to the old french version but never got my hands on the Dream arc until I bought this release. And even though I’m a bit disapointed by how fast the amazon trio was destroyed in comparison to the anime where they lasted at least 20 episodes (I was kinda upset by Fisheye’s demise…. But now, so was I when Mimete died in volume 6.) i don’t regret reding it at all. More character developement for my girls, and that’s what’s great!
I don’t quite understand a tiny thing though: If the outer went away right after the end of Mugen Academy, why did they appear in the “Princess Kaguya” side story? (Set between Infinity and Dreams)

Like everyone else it seems, I was really excited to see the Outer Senshi again! But more than that, I loved all the character development for the Inner Senshi. With so many characters, we don’t get to know any of them really well, but this volume really helped to add some new dimensions to them. I connected a lot with Mercury in particular.

The best thing about this volume is that out of the very few Sailor Moon manga I owned from its TOKYOPOP print, just about half of them are in here….in short, I already read most of this book a thousand times. I wasn’t always able to get new manga, so I made do with the manga I had. The familiar feeling I had when I read this book made me realize that I can always feel right at home when reading Sailor Moon. :’)

The first time I saw the manga series was when I was still in grade 5. It was the chinese translation. It was owned by my classmate at that time. Starting from that moment, I really wished that I had a copy as well. Now that I’m 24 years old, I was so happy that I found out this new version of the sailor moon series. I already owned volumes 1-9 of this new version. Dreams do come true! Thank you and I’m still looking forward for the release of the remaining volumes.

I was very impressed with the translation. It felt more natural and added to the experience. This is definitely one of my favorite volumes in this arc.

Ilike that the 1995 or older series is being translated for the generations that were not at the time.

So I was excited when I saw Walmart finally had this volume in stock. Then I got home, looked at my bookshelf, and saw that I haven’t read volume 8 yet! Sigh. Now I have to go to wait for my copy to come in.

First time reading the manga and I’m loving how all the characters, not just Usagi, got their own character development and moments, I’m impressed at how well the manga manages to juggle such a large cast. ^^

YAY!!!! The Outers are Returning. Saturn has returned. XD
Now I just need to get the two previous volume I’m missing.

I’ve always loved the SuperS arc for it’s art and for the humor. After so many books that have been dark, it’s great to see villains that cut loose a bit more. I keep re-reading #9 looking for the tiny background sketches of (for example) Zirconia counting her money.

I wish there was a little more with Helios and Chibi-usa. I prefer his manga incarnation more than his anime version. In the manga, Helios is slightly more trusting and open around Chibi-usa, and his powers are better explained in this book.

Hotaru’s relationship with her new family is very cute to see. I like that Haruka is sort of the reluctant dad in her life, she seems to be better at being a father than Professor Tomoe was in #7 and in #8, that’s good social commentary right there, when a 16 year old girl is a better father than a 35+ year old man. But I’m even more happy seeing Setsuna’s reactions to little Hotaru knocking into things at the house. She’s a little less subdued here than in the anime, I really like that.

Sailor Moon is one of the all-time classic manga/anime franchises in the States. It has great memorable characters that really feel like a family after a while, memorable villains, an intriguing story, amazing art, and GREAT character development!

I’ve Read Sailor Moon 9 and it was really great how rei’s crows and minako’s cat turn human at the last second thats means luna and diana would be turning human to help sailor moon and sailor chibi moon in sailor moon 10. I Really looking forward to it.

    • Posted March 25, 2013 at 5:14 pm | Permalink

Chronogically, in the story, Luna already became human once ^^ During a side story that takes place between the infinity arc and the dream arc

Sailor moon is a classic many will try to imitate but nothing will be better.
vol.9 is the ramp up to 10 and a good segway to continue the Darkmoon story arc.
The re release of Sailor moon manga is getting me amped up for the return of the anime.

I’ve been a long time lover of anime and manga yet I never got around to watching or reading Sailor Moon when it was first popular. I’m so glad I have the chance to now and I’m loving the lovely color pages. Also in case anyone wasn’t aware, Sailor Moon is getting a full anime remake coming this summer. Really looking forward to that as well!
